Dear watched-by-me

Watching other peoples art was the main reason I joined deviantArt. For me, there’s nothing better than to see new deviations every day. Why am I watching you?
I won’t say ‘because you are good’. This answer is not as correct as the one I will give you now:
Because I like your stuff.
I don’t only like art because it’s stunning cool or full of amazing details. Art means more to me than that! Art is not created by us, WE are only a tool for art to be brought alive. And as different tools we all can make something better or not as good as others.
Every artist has those days where he/she can’t stop to dislike their own art for some reason. This happens to everyone! I had this time too and I might have it another time.
But actually I don’t think there’s any need to change something about it. I can always improve my skills. There’s no doubt about that. But a lot of artist have those day they think: I would rather have another ones skills… or style.
But that’s not true. Everyone has an individual style but most likely never noticed it. Why? Because it’s YOU. You see your style all the time, so you can’t see what exactly is different about your stuff of the rest of this world. You think there IS no special thing about your own style. But let me tell you: there is.
When you draw something… and people see a thumbnail of it, without your name but they still tell: w00t that’s from ‘name’!
THIS is what you should reach for.
And for those I watch: most of you already reached this goal without even notice it.
Art is not about being good or being better than someone else. Art is about art itself. Some people work with skills, some with emotions. Both kind of art are amazing in their own way.

It’s sad when artists start to emo about how crappy they are though they are worlds better then some jerk like me. It’s sad when they don’t even notice the comment given by their fans that tell them how great they are.
I am one of those fans. And I know my comments are not that stunning and stuff… but when someone asks me to, I can be critique too.
There are artists out there that think they suck though I would give everything to watch them draw once in my whole life!
I feel sad when I look at their new stuff and they still keep saying: damn I am sooooooo lousy!
It makes me depressed to see that they only see what they don’t have but never see what they DO have.
Art is not supposed to look absolutely perfect! Because if all artists would be without any errors at all, their work would look completely the same and the word ‘style’ would no longer exist.

And this would be sad, wouldn’t it?
Please, think about this… ask yourself why you make art.
You make it to be good or better than everyone else?
Or do you make art for the art itself?

Sorry for being bitchy.
All I want is to say my opinion. I kept telling the ones I watch in their journals or whatever. Some of you know I am a very… VERY annoying fan that keeps asking for sketches and stupid stuff like that. I know I am going on quite some nerves out there and… I am sorry about this.
I would give the world to chat with some of u. It means the world to me.
When I wrote my fanmail to Todd Lockwood, he answered and we had a small E-Mail chat together, that ment more to me than you guys might guess. And this goes to everyone out there I admire.
Well… please forgive me being a jerk that stalks you wherever you guys go. I will never mean any harm to you.
